The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, called on the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce to continue with its commitment to ensure the rights of consumers, promote legality as a basis for the growth of the economy and, in particular, strengthen its actions against corruption.

“The invitation that I make to the SIC, is not only to accompany the criminal authorities in the sanctions that correspond to these criminal practices (referring to corruption), but also to apply the highest possible financial sanction to those companies” said the President during an event celebrating 50 years of the Superintendency’s existence.

The commitment was reiterated by the superintendent of Industry and Commerce, Andrés Barreto, who assured that his office will be unforgiving with corruption or any other behavior that deserves a sanction.
