 |  July 21, 2016

Reuters reports that MasterCard Inc said it would buy 92.4 percent of London-based VocaLink Holdings Ltd for about 700 million pounds as the one of the world’s top payment network providers looks to strengthen its presence in the UK market.

MasterCard also said that VocaLink’s existing shareholders could get an additional $220 million if certain performance targets are met.

VocaLink’s Chief Executive David Yates will join MasterCard’s management committee if the deal closes.
