Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP announced that Ali Stoeppelwerth will join the firm as Special Counsel in the Washington, DC, office. Stoeppelwerth is an antitrust and regulatory lawyer who focuses particularly on issues affecting clients in the media, telecommunications, e-commerce, aviation and financial services industries. She joins Hughes Hubbard after having practiced antitrust law at another Washington firm for more than two decades.

Stoeppelwerth has extensive experience successfully representing clients in Federal Trade Commission and US Justice Department merger reviews. She advises companies on antitrust-related investigations, civil litigation (including class actions and multidistrict litigation) and related Federal Communications Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Transportation regulatory inquiries. Stoeppelwerth also provides counseling and compliance training in connection with licensing, distribution, pricing, advertising and other strategic business issues.

“Ali brings over two decades of experience working in the media, telecom and financial services industries,” said William Kolasky, chair of Hughes Hubbard’s Antitrust & Competition practice. “Ali is an excellent fit for our overall practice, and we are excited to welcome her to the team.”

“I am delighted to join Hughes Hubbard, a firm that I know and greatly respect, and look forward to working with the talented antitrust lawyers there,” said Stoeppelwerth.
