Antitrust and Regulation: Credit Rating Agencies
Lawrence White, Rosa Abrantes-Metz, Jun 21, 2012
Professor Lawrence White (NYU Stern School of Business) and Dr. Rosa Abrantes-Metz (Global Economics Group, NYU Stern School of Business) presented a webinar on the role of credit rating agencies (CRAs) in the financial crisis and their performance in structured finance. They also discussed the problems with this market and proposed some solutions. A specific question that the presenters seek to answer is whether CRAs have become “too important” to the financial markets and regulatory systems, and how policy should address this concern.
