Gabriella Erdei

Gabriella Erdei is a lawyer on secondment to the OECD Competition Division and case handler at the Hungarian Competition Authority’s (GVH) Merger Section.

After finishing her studies in 2015 at University of Szeged, Faculty of Law, Hungary she joined to the GVH’s Competition Culture and Communication Department as an intern, and soon became a case handler at the Authority’s Consumer Protection Department, where she worked on assessing unfair competitive practices. Joining the Merger Section as a case handler, she was involved doing legal and economic analysis, market investigations of the proposed mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Erdei has collaborated in the OECD background notes, such as ‘Gun jumping and suspensory effects of merger notifications’ and ‘Treatment of legally privileged information in competition proceedings’. Currently she is also working on a publication for the Hungarian competition journal (Versenytükör) about Innovation in Merger Control. Ms. Erdei is interested in pursuing research with a specific focus on Merger Control in the Digital Era; and Competition Law in the Digital Economy.
