Berkeley Research Group (BRG) welcomes Dr. David S. Evans as a prominent economist and leader in BRG’s Antitrust and Competition practice. Dr. Evans will be at the forefront of BRG’s initiatives related to digital economy, platform markets, and more. Drawing on his expertise, he’ll provide guidance on litigation, investigations, and regulations as technology begins to influence businesses around the globe.

Evans is a highly respected economist, with his work on platform businesses, the digital economy, and antitrust economics being a key source of research in these areas. His findings are widely cited by peers and colleagues alike.

He joins BRG at a pivotal moment in the development of the firm’s world-leading antitrust and competition practice, following the September appointment of distinguished antitrust economist Dr. David Sunding. Evans is based in Boston and joins BRG’s office there.

Evans has extensive experience in competition law and two-sided markets, advising companies of all sizes from early-stage start-ups to global digital organizations. He has consulted on and testified in several important antitrust and competition cases over the course of his career, including some extremely influential cases related to digital platforms. He is also a renowned expert on merger control, having been involved with various prominent mergers.

David is renowned for his pioneering scholarship on multisided platforms and on the digital economy. I look forward to working with him to realize our ambitious plans to create the world’s leading practice on disputes related to the digital transformation.”

In addition to his academic and consulting career, Evans is the founder of Competition Policy International, a leading global publisher of scholarly articles on antitrust and, more recently, regulation for the digital economy.
