The commerce ministry of China issued a statement on Friday, stating that Australia’s ban on TikTok from federal government-owned devices was discriminatory and had negative effects on Australian businesses and the public. The statement urged Canberra to treat all companies equally.

The statement claims that Australia treated TikTok in a discriminatory manner, implementing restrictive measures that are not in line with maintaining national security.
China requested that Australia establish a positive setting for bilateral economic and trade collaboration.
