E.U.: Food Task-Force finds little evidence of anti-competition practices

The European Commission’s Food Task-Forced stated last week it has not found significant competition concerns. The establishing of the Food Task-Force suggested the EU would be monitoring the food sector with more scrutiny, as the task-force was established in the wake of complaints made by competition authorities that the food sector was participating in antitrust violations. Most actions taken by the task force, however, have taken place at the national level and not at the level of the E.U.
