EA Games may lose exclusive use of NCAA Football in $27 M settlement

Forbes reports EA Games proposed $27 million settlement includes provisions for allowing their exclusivity contract with NCAA football to expire in 2014 with no option to renew for the following five years. The settlement is the result of a claim made in 2008 that a EA created a monopoly by securing the only NCAA football game in the industry. Consumers who purchased any EA NCAA football title within the last six years could have a claim of either $1.90 or $6.79 out of the multimillion dollar settlement.
