EU: EC confirms May ethylene dawn raids

The European Commission confirmed on Wednesday that on May 16, 2017, it had raided several companies in several Member States regarding suspected cartel violations related to the purchasing of ethylene.

Swiss company, Clariant, and US, Celanese, confirmed on July 26 as well that they were among the companies targeted by the raids, though the EC did not name any of the companies.

The EC stated in its press release that the raids are merely a preliminary step in an investigation and does not imply that the companies are guilty of any charges.
