France: Auchan unloads 55 stores for Casino acquisition

France-based retailer Auchan has reportedly agreed to sell 55 stores to appease the French Competition Authority and gain approval to acquire 25 Casino stores in Paris.

Auchan first looked to acquire the stores to develop its supermarket assets; additional Casino locations are set to be acquired by independent group G20, according to reports.

Financial details of the transactions were not disclosed in reports.
