Hermes Wins French Antitrust Approval To Buy J3L

French Competition Authority stated it found no competition concerns after reviewing a plan by Hermes to acquire J3L, which manufactures high-end metal parts for handbags, briefcases, wallets, and shoes.

New entity will have a market share of less than 25% in the upstream market, Autorité de la concurrence said in Monday’s statement. Several other manufacturers of metal parts will remain credible alternatives to J3L.
