JioCinema, a streaming platform operated by India’s Reliance, has entered a partnership with NBC Universal Media to expand the selection of Hollywood content available on the platform for Indian audiences. The collaboration was announced on Monday by the companies.
According to a joint statement from the companies involved, a multi-year agreement has been reached that will provide premium subscribers of JioCinema access to popular shows including “Downton Abbey,” “Suits,” and “The Office.”
This comes after JioCinema signed a content streaming deal with Warner Bros Discovery in April for shows such as “Succession” and “Game of Thrones”.
JioCinema announced its premium pricing earlier this month, moving away from free content model to fight rivals like Netflix and Disney in the content streaming space.
