Isabelle de Silva Steps Down From The French Competition Authority

The president of the French Competition Authority, Isabelle de Silva, will step down at the end of her first term on October 13. 

The news, released on Monday, October 4, completely caught the senior administration and the business world by surprise: the president of the Competition Authority, Isabelle de Silva, will leave her post on October 13, after a term of office. She was considered so much the favorite to continue. The possibility of her replacement was little discussed in recent weeks. The decision itself seems to respond to a certain rush, no candidate being nominated at the same time is unusual for the french watchdog, reported News-in.

Pending the appearance of a name, a choice falling to the President of the Republic, the vice-president of the Authority, the economist Emmanuel Combe, will act as interim.

Isabelle de Silva reacted on Twitter: “As this term approaches, and before taking stock, I can see how lucky I was to be able to accomplish a fascinating mission, by giving it all my energy, with the formidable teams of the French Authority”
