Italy: Ryanair faces new antitrust probe

taly’s antitrust authority on Thursday opened a probe into the fees envisaged by Ryanair’s new policy on hand baggage, sources told ANSA.

The authority wants to establish if it is an uncompetitive practice, since hand baggage transport should be “an essential element of transport”, the sources said. Therefore, they said, the new policy might “alter the transparency of charges to compare the offers of various carriers”.
