The Canadian Competition Bureau announced yesterday that Korean Air has pleaded guilty to participating in an air price-fixing cartel between April 22, 2002 and February 14, 2006. The airline was fined $5.5 million by Canada’s Competition Bureau for fixing air cargo surcharges for routes from Canada.
The Bureau’s investigation into air cargo surcharges is still ongoing. So far, Cargolux, Air France, KLM, Martinair, Qantas, and BA have pleaded guilty for price-fixing.
