Mexico’s Cofece Fines Dutch Fund And Doporto

 |  July 1, 2020

Mexico antitrust agency Cofece fined Moench Cooperatief and businessman Luis Doporto for failing to eliminate links between Nadro and Marzam in the pharmaceutical product distribution market.

Moench and Doporto receive fines totaling 30.9 million pesos (US$1.35 million), according to a statement from the antitrust agency.

Conditions were set by Cofece in June 2018 to close an investigation into a possible illegal concentration in the market. Moench and Doporto must still comply with measures, otherwise the antitrust agency can establish enforcement measures with a fine of up to double the current one.

Cofece started the investigation after media reports were released that were based on the Panama Papers.
