Portugal’s National Communication Authority (Anacom) has ruled that the proposed acquisition by Cofina of Media Capital Group does not raise relevant competition issues in the electronic communications markets. This follows a request addressed to the regulator by the Competition Authority (AdC).
In view of the fact that Media Capital’s activities do not fall within Anacom’s sphere of competence, the regulator has not expressed an opinion on their definition. As a result, no electronic communications markets were identified that were potentially affected by the transaction in question.
