Dr Vanessa Yanhua Zhang specializes in economics analysis in competition policy. She has worked a wide range of competition matters involving allegations of monopolization, foreclosure practices, vertical restraints, merger analysis and intellectual property. She has consulted on projects across various industries, such as payment card, banking, pharmaceutical, high tech, electricity, telecommunication, and consumer products. She is the author of several articles on Chinaâ€™s merger control and Anti-Monopoly Law (AML), economic analysis of competition policy, conspiracies, electricity market, and has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Competition Law and Economics, Review of Industrial Organization, Competition Policy International, Global Competition Policy, Annales d'Economie et Statistique, Singapore Economic Review, Revue EuropÃ©enne de Droit et dâ€™Economie. She is recognized by Euromoneyâ€™s â€œ2010-2012 Expert Guide to the Worldâ€™s Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers/Economist: Chinaâ€
Dr Zhang is also a visiting professor at Renmin University of China, where she teaches regulation and antitrust economics to LLM students. She is also the Editor of the Asia Antitrust Column at Competition Policy International. Prior to joining Global Economics Group (GlobalEcon), Dr Zhang took various positions at Law and Economics Consulting Group (LECG), worked as a visiting researcher at CPB Netherland Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, and was a lecturer at the University of Toulouse in France.
