Spiro Dhapi is a Legal Adviser with the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC).
Spiro is a graduate of Law from the University of Athens (LLB) with additional post-graduate studies in Public International Law at the University of Athens (LLM), and in Business Law and Technology at the University of California Berkeley School of Law – Boalt Hall (LLM).
Having been licensed as an Attorney and Counsellor at Law with the New York Bar, Spiro has developed an extensive practical with European and US entities providing advice on intellectual property, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity and international transactions. Prior to joining CEN and CENELEC Spiro has also served as alternate Member with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), contributing to the shaping of EU policy initiatives with impact on the Digital Economy.
Within CEN and CENELEC, Spiro provides legal advice on a variety of legal aspects for Standardization, including Intellectual Property related matters such as Patents, Copyrights and Data Protection.
