Experience & Areas of Interest:
Since October 2006 Kai Hüschelrath has been a Researcher in the Department of Industrial Economics and International Management. His research mainly concentrates on competition policy and regulatory economics. Since April 2009 he also holds a position as assistant professor of Industrial Organization and Competitive Strategy at WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar.
From 2001 to 2004 he was a research and teaching assistant of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Weigand at the Chair for Microeconomics and Industrial Organization at WHU. During that time he spent several months as a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. In his dissertation he addressed the topic "Competition Policy Analysis – An Integrated Approach with Applications to Strategic Behavior". From 2005 to 2006 he worked as an economist in the London office of Frontier Economics.
