Sen. Mike Lee’s (R-Utah) antitrust counsel, Sean Pugh, has joined Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath. Pugh, who has spent almost a decade in government-related antitrust positions, will join Faegre Drinker as counsel within its litigation group, the firm said Monday in a statement.
As counsel to Lee, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary’s antitrust subcommittee, Pugh provided legal analysis and advice on antitrust policy and related legislation.
During his tenure with the Senate Judiciary Committee, Pugh provided legal analysis and advice on antitrust policy and related legislation. While at the FTC, Pugh served as management liaison between the bureau’s front office and various divisions and regional offices and as lead staff attorney on several hospital and retail merger investigations.
At Faegre Drinker, Pugh will focus his practice on advising clients on antitrust considerations for potential transactions and day-to-day business operations. He will draw upon his government background when helping clients navigate antitrust risks associated with collaboration and communications with competitors, integration planning, and merger investigations.
Daniel J. Collins and Deborah A. Ellingboe, co-leaders of Faegre Drinker’s Litigation group, said in a joint statement, “Sean brings an impressive depth of experience to our firm. His work on Capitol Hill, along with his experience at the FTC and in private practice, will be a valuable asset to our clients faced with government actions and investigations, as well as in complex antitrust matters and class action suits.”
