Trading Exchange Wants Full Rehearing of Antitrust Case

 |  April 8, 2020

An electronic-based futures trading exchange that faltered in the early 2000s is asking the full Seventh Circuit to review the appeals court’s ruling that its failure could be traced to antitrust violations on the part of more traditional exchanges, arguing that the panel ruling conflicts with court precedent.

US Futures Exchange’s petition for rehearing en banc, filed Monday, April 6, but made public Tuesday, comes about two weeks after a three-judge appellate panel affirmed a district court’s finding that the Chicago Board of Trade couldn’t be held liable.
