U.S.: Presidential elections to determine FTC Chairman’s future

FTC Chairman Jonathan Leibowitz has announced he will decide after the November 6 presidential elections if he is stepping down from the position. Leibowitz has been commissioner for eight years and been Chairman throughout President Obama’s term. In an interview with Bloomberg’s “Capitol Gains,” airing October 28, the Chairman explained he will surrender his position if Republican candidate Mitt Romney wins the election, adding that the president “deserves to have three commissioners from his own party, a tradition at the agency.”
