On January 21, 2019, Juliette Enser was appointed as the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)’s Senior Director of State Aid.

Ms. Enser has been a director at the CMA since its launch, and most recently has been leading the CMA’s preparations in the State Aid area.

Previously, Ms. Enser was a Director of Cartel Enforcement in the CMA’s Cartels and Criminal Group, which she joined from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) when the OFT’s competition functions passed to the CMA on April 1, 2014.

Ms. Enser, an experienced competition lawyer, was previously a Director in the OFT’s Cartels directorate and worked in the OFT’s Cartels and Criminal Enforcement Group which she joined in 2010.

She took a leading role in a range of cartel investigations under the Competition Act, including the CMA’s online poster case which saw the first use of its director disqualification powers.

Prior to joining the OFT, Ms. Enser worked in private practice.
