UK: Watchdog suspends legal action against Viagogo

 |  September 5, 2019

The UK’s competition watchdog has suspended court action against ticket reselling website Viagogo, stating the company has addressed its concerns.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced in July that it was going ahead with legal proceedings after repeated warnings over Viagogo’s compliance with consumer protection law.

But on Thursday, September 5, it stated Viagogo had addressed concerns relating to how it presents information to customers.

Andrea Coscelli, chief executive of the CMA, said, “Key information needed to make informed decisions before buying a ticket is now much clearer, including on where you’ll sit in a venue and whether you might be turned away at the door.”
