US: Congress seeks input from CEOs over Net Neutrality

The chairman of the US House Energy and Commerce Committee asked CEOs of Alphabet, AT&T, Verizon, Netflix, Charter, Comcast and Facebook to testify at a September 7 hearing on the net neutrality debate.

The US Federal Communications Commission has been considering removing the 2015 net neutrality rules which reclassified internet service as a public utility.

No company has yet announced if they will attend the hearing, though Comcast did say it “believes the best way to stop the regulatory ping-pong on this important issue is for Congress to enact bipartisan legislation.”
