Jon Jacobs is joining Perkins Coie’s Washington office, where he’ll be a partner in the antitrust and unfair competition litigation practice. He spent the last 27 years working for DOJ, where he was lead trial counsel in the department’s successful case against the Anthem-Cigna merger.
“We are pleased to welcome such an experienced antitrust trial attorney to our team,” said Susan Foster, Co-Chair of Perkins Coie’s Antitrust & Unfair Competition Litigation practice. “Jon is a proven trial litigator who has a deep understanding of government investigations and enforcement. He strengthens the value of our national antitrust practice, particularly our cartel and health care antitrust practice, and adds gravitas to our deep bench of litigators.”
Jon has an extensive background in criminal antitrust enforcement and civil merger and non-merger litigation. He joined the Department in 1990 and has successfully litigated several high-profile antitrust criminal and civil cases, negotiated settlements and served as lead counsel on a wide scope of matters including cases involving price fixing, mergers and acquisitions, customer allocation, bid rigging and exclusive dealing.
