US: In LCD case finale, law firms awarded millions in attorneys’ fees

A US district judge has awarded millions in attorneys’ fees to the law firms who won more than $1 billion in settlements in a major LCD price-fixing case. US District Judge Susan Illston awarded $310 million to 116 law firms who were part of a major case involving nationwide consumers of LCD panels used in various electronics. The companies accused of price-fixing, and subsequently forced to pay $1.08 billion, included Samsung and Hitachi. The two top law firms who co-lead the case were Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason and Alioto Law Firm, which received $75 million and $49 million, respectively.
