Chicago-headquartered Kirkland & Ellis has added to its antitrust and competition practice with the hire of a new partner in Washington, DC.
Carla Hine joins Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, DC, from McDermott Will & Emery, where she was a partner for more than 12 years.
Hine, who also serves as vice-chair of the American Bar Association antitrust section’s federal civil enforcement committee, specialises in defending merger and acquisition transactions before United States antitrust regulators including the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.
The hire follows that of City of Chicago corporation counsel Stephen Patton who re-joined the firm in June.
