US: Senator Warren will meet with DoJ Antitrust nominee

 |  August 15, 2017

Senator Elizabeth Warren, who reportedly has placed a hold on the confirmation of Makan Delrahim to lead the Department of Justice’s antitrust division, is set to meet with him.

The Massachusetts Democrat’s office confirmed Monday that a meeting with Makan Delrahim, Trump’s pick to lead the DOJ’s Antitrust Division, is on her books, but did not comment on the timing or agenda of the meeting.

Last week according to a report by Bloomberg, Democratic Senator Warren put a “hold” on the confirmation of President Donald Trump’s nominee to run the Justice Department’s antitrust division, Makan Delrahim. This hold delays the vote until least September.

Warren has described the nomination of Delrahim, a former lobbyist for Anthem and other companies pursuing mergers, as an indication that Trump’s administration will “put the interests of giant corporations ahead of the American people,” according to an April 3 post on her Facebook page.
