John Oxenham

Founder of Primerio. John has practiced in the regulatory, commercial litigation and antitrust fields locally and across the African region for over 20 years. He has been recognized as a leader in his field for antitrust law. He has written and spoken extensively on antitrust & competition-law issues. Recently, John represented Business at the OECD as the first regional representative. John has acted in many of the leading antitrust, commercial litigation and regulatory matters in South Africa and Africa. He has been a partner in a major South African law firm, co-founder of a South African practice and the founder of a Pan-African legal group. John is recognised by Best lawyers South Africa Competition Law, Chambers & Partners, GIR, GCR, Who’s Who Business Lawyer and Competition Lawyer and Legal 500 EMEA. He received a finance Global award for the Cartels Lawyer of the Year for South Africa in 2019. John also led the American Bar Associations Procedural Transparency Task Force Team for Africa (South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Egypt), and is the regional contributor to the American Bar Association’s Africa updates. John speaks frequently at international seminars and provides commentary on all aspects of African antitrust.
