Marcus Bezzi is the Executive General Manager for Competition Enforcement at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. He has been an Executive General Manager at the ACCC since January 2009. Marcus is responsible for the ACCC’s competition law enforcement program, including misuse of market power cases and other cases involving anticompetitive conduct, the ACCC cartel immunity program, investigation of serious cartel offences, and referral of criminal conduct for prosecution and taking civil enforcement action under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
Marcus also oversees the ACCC’s intelligence work and its engagement in the international arena. Marcus is also a co-chair of the Cartel Working Group SG-2 (Enforcement Techniques) for the International Competition Network.
Marcus has a background as a government and private sector lawyer. He was the Head of Legal/General Counsel at the Australian Communications and Media Authority for three years and prior to that appointment Marcus with the Australian Government Solicitor for fifteen years. Prior to his service in the public sector, Marcus practiced as a litigation lawyer in the UK and Australia.
