NASCAR soon will finalize a deal to purchase International Speedway, according to reports from The Wall Street Journal.
International Speedway Corp. (ISC) owns a number of race tracks throughout the country, including Daytona International Speedway in Florida, which is where the company is based, and Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
According to The Wall Street Journal, NASCAR made an offer to acquire ISC in November 2018 in a deal that would set the corporation’s value at US$1.85 billion.
AP has reported that the companies expect to close the deal, which still values ISC at almost US$2 billion, later this year.
Music City is home to its own track, Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, located at the Nashville Fairgrounds. The track is not owned by ISC but has hosted NASCAR Cup-series races in the past.
