Thompson Hine announced that Joshua L. Shapiro has joined the firm as a partner in the Antitrust, Competition & Distribution practice group in New York. He joins the firm from Allen & Overy.
Shapiro focuses his practice on guiding clients through the antitrust review of mergers and acquisitions, from deal inception and risk assessment to clearance by the US Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. He also provides strategic advice and antitrust counseling to US and foreign clients on critical competition questions and has extensive antitrust litigation experience.
“We are pleased to welcome Josh to the firm,” said Todd E. Mason, partner-in-charge of the New York office. “His focus on merger clearance greatly complements our competition and corporate practices. Our clients will benefit from his deep knowledge of antitrust law and his experience leading antitrust aspects of high-profile and complex M&A transactions.”
Of his move to the firm, Shapiro said, “I was attracted to Thompson Hine’s platform and its competition, corporate and litigation practices. I was drawn to the firm’s reputation and long-standing relationships with some of the leading companies in the United States. In addition, I value the firm’s focus on providing predictable, transparent and efficient delivery of legal services, which will greatly benefit my clients.”
