Brazil: CADE named Best Agency of the Year in the Americas

Brazil’s competition authority was named Best Agency in the Americas on tuesday, during an annual awards dinner held by Global Competition Review magazine. Brazil’s CADE beat out prestigious institutions such as the USA’s Justice Department Antitrust unit, as well as the FTC and the US Attorney General’s anti-trust office.

CADE’s president, Vinicius Marques de Carvalho, thanked the British magazine for their recognition to ‘the dedication and commitment of CADE’s staff’ and to the prominent status that the defense of free competition has achieved in his country.

This is the second time CADE has received the award, having previously won it in 2011.
