The World Economic Forum, “the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation,” recently joined the ranks of competition authorities and ministerial departments around the world seeking to understand better how globalization and digitalization impact upon competition law and policy. To that end, the Forum commissioned the current author to prepare a White Paper on “Competition Policy in a Globalized, Digitalized Economy” which was published in December 2019. This piece elaborates on the background and context in which the White Paper was prepared and presents an overview of the findings and policy recommendations of the White Paper.
