Ecuador: Cruz Verde parent company cleared to buy pharmacy chain

The Superintendency of Market Power Control (SCPM) of Ecuador approved the acquisition proposal made by the Chilean pharmaceutical group SOCOFAR, parent of the important chain of pharmacies Cruz Verde and part of the Mexican group FEMSA, to take over the line of Ecuadorian pharmacies Fybesa.

The market regulator determined that the agreement “does not create, modify or reinforce market power in any of the relevant markets; retail sale of medicines and retail sale of consumer products “.

The Ecuadorian company owns the Oki-Doki retailer and the Fybeca and SanaSana pharmacies, one of the most important pharmacy groups in Ecuador.
