EU States Introduce Regulations That Protect Gig Economy Workers

 |  June 12, 2023

On Monday, EU member states reached an agreement on regulations for gig work, which will provide greater protections for the 28 million people working for companies like Uber and Deliveroo across the bloc.

According to The Financial Times, the proposed regulations may require companies to classify workers who are currently self-employed as employees if the companies control factors such as hours worked and appearance at work.
