France: Antitrust probe involving Electrolux, Bosch proceeds

 |  February 7, 2018

French competition authorities will give more details in March of alleged breaches of antitrust rules by several home appliances makers, including Sweden’s Electrolux and Germany’s Bosch in 2006 to 2009, The Financial Times said Wednesday, February 7.

The statement of objection will allege that Electrolux and other appliance manufacturers coordinated prices of large domestic appliances during that period. The French Competition Authority began investigating Electrolux regarding a possible violation of antitrust rules in 2013. A statement of objection is a formal step in an investigation that outlines preliminary conclusions but does not prejudge the final outcome of the case.

The company said it cannot rule out “that the outcome could have a material impact on Electrolux financial result and cash flow. At this stage it is however not possible to evaluate the extent of such an impact.”
