France’s Competition Regulator To Probe Apple’s App Tracking

The French Competition Authority is considering investigating Apple’s App Tracking Transparency policies for potential antitrust violations.

Apps on iPhones use tracking IDs on devices to monitor activity across multiple apps, potentially allowing for advertising or data sharing with brokers.

App Tracking Transparency is a feature introduced in 2021 that blocks apps from tracking users across other apps. It is available in iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 and above, and can be easily used.
