Judge stays West Penn case against UPMC because of alleged bias

U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab has stayed West Penn Allegheny Health Systems’ antitrust lawsuit against UPMC because of West Penn’s allegations of judicial bias. According to its motion, West Penn asks Judge Schwab to “correct its misstatements to avoid any possible appearance of bias.” West Penn lawyers claim that the court has misrepresented its positions in the case.
