Norton Rose Fulbright announced that Wilko van Weert has joined its antitrust and competition team as a partner in Brussels.
Wilko, who joins from McDermott, Will & Emery, has established a reputation as a leading lawyer in the Brussels market focused on the whole suite of competition work, but with particular experience in cartel investigations, IP-related matters, abuse of dominance cases, and related compliance work. He has been involved in a number of high profile investigations in recent years before the European Commission and other global regulators and courts.
Ian Giles, Head of Antitrust, Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA), commented, “Brussels is a global centre for competition law and Wilko brings a wealth of experience that will extend our existing European offering, and create strong synergies with our Asia team given Wilko’s extensive experience acting with Asian clients. He will play a key role in supporting and implementing our growth strategy across the region and globally. The growth of our Brussels capability is especially important as the Brexit transition period comes to an end.”
