Spanish competition regulator, the CNMC, has authorized the merger of electric power distributors Audax and Unieléctrica, notified on February 9 through the company Eryx Investments.
The authorization was granted following Unieléctrica’s assurances that integration will only take place at a strategic level, since the companies and their subsidiaries will continue to work independently and in competition with one another. The agreement would create the seventh largest energy trading group in Spain.
The internal structure and lines of work of Unieléctrica and the other group companies will not change, keeping Audax its subsidiaries in separate locations.
