Spain: Uber returns to Spain

Car-sharing company Uber has decided on a second go at Spain, changing its strategy as it tries to move past it’s controversial and failed 2014 launch, which ended with a court decision to ban their UberPop service. This time around the company has stated it will concentrate on their higher-tier UberX service.

UberX already operates across Europe, including in France and the UK. This service works by hailing licensed drivers through the company’s signature mobile app.

The UberX model is similar to the one employed by rival Cabify, relying on professional drivers instead of the controversial amateur ‘shared’ vehicles the San Francisco based company has become known for.
