Telephone company Vodafone launched its new brand, Bit, on Monday, November 5, seeking to attract customers in search of simple mobile telephony packages, in a proposal similar to that made by its rival Telefónica and its O2 brand, and which Vodafone itself had earlier denounced before the CNMC.
Vodafone would enter into direct competition with O2, seeking to attract customers looking for simple products and to strengthen its proposal with the growth of new competitors in the Spanish market. A few weeks ago, Vodafone denounced a similar plan by Telefónica as being disloyal and breaching regulation, criticizing the offering of different rates for fiber services.
Andrés Vicente, head of Vodafone’s private business unit, said the company already has a similar offer in the United Kingdom, called Voxi, and asserted that the plan they have presented this Monday has no similar offers in Spain.
