Turkey Launches Fresh Probe Into Google

 |  June 19, 2023

The Turkish competition watchdog has initiated an investigation into Alphabet, Google, and the Turkish Google advertising unit to determine if they have engaged in market abuse due to their dominant position.

According to a statement from the Competition Authority (RK), initial investigations suggest that the company committed a breach of competition law by giving preferential treatment to its own online video advertising and ad technology services.

The authority stated that the investigation encompasses Alphabet, Google, Google International, Google Ireland Limited, and the Turkish Google advertising unit, with a focus on their integrity.
