Technology conglomerate AECOM has reportedly struck an agreement to acquire construction group URS for $6 billion, four months after the companies agreed on a restructuring plan for URS.
AECOM pursued a takeover of the construction company on the grounds that URS restructured its board of directors and changes its strategic options, but reports say despite the overhauls, URS will remain a single entity. Reports say the merged company will hold oil and gas, power and government service capacity and have an annual revenue of more than $19 billion.
The companies first announced plans to merge late last week.
