US: Former DOJ antitrust deputy assistant AG makes career move

Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Enforcement at the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division Scott Hammond will reportedly join law firm Gibson Dunn in Washington D.C., reports say.

The move will extend Hammond’s antitrust expertise at Gibson Dunn to focus his practice on criminal antitrust and international cartels. In a statement, Hammond described the move as “a home here I could hit the ground running by utilizing my experience expanding the Antitrust Division’s international cartel program.”

Hammond also described the law firm as the “perfect fit.”

The lawyer, who also served at the UK’s Office of Fair Trading, will be joining former DOJ colleague Gary Spratling at the law firm.
