US/UK: Merger reveals world’s largest jewelry chain

 |  June 3, 2014

Top jewelry retailers Signet Jewelers and Zale Corporation have reportedly resolved discussions and agreed on a merger deal, creating the world’s largest player in the industry.

UK-based Signet, the world’s largest specialty jewelry retailer, will acquire US-based Zale for $1.46 billion after several months of debate. According to reports, some Zale shareholders opposed the deal, delaying an agreement from being reached.
